Community Colleges of the USACommunity colleges are generally two year colleges in your local community. They often offer a variety of courses, either to help prepare you for a 4 year institution, of offering an AA or vocational degree which may lead to certification. Community colleges are a great way to get the basic college courses required of everybody (basic math, English, literature, etc.). If you have not decided on a major, or need a little extra help, choosing to start your adult education at a community college has lots of advantages. Just make sure your credits will transfer to wherever you want to finish your higher education degree, should you decide to go beyond the two year curriculum.
