Generally, each state has a large state-run university system that has campuses in many cities. Then there arte smaller state (public) colleges in the smaller towns, which generally offer a more limited curriculum. As long as you attend a state college or public university within your home state, the tuition should be considerable less than either attending a private college or a public university in another state.
