Today will be a demanding one and one of those when one is extraordinarily appreciative to Work From Home. After lunch I shall be I taking my son to nursery, and I shall be stopping on for the Father’s Day show that they have been working on. When we come back I shall be going with my wife for a hospital appointment with the oncologist following on from the procedure she had to take out a lump from her breast at the beginning of May.
How blessed I am that my work involves Online Jobs by working for an Internet Business that lets me the flexibility to be able to do these extremely important things without upsetting the plans of others. It’s a blessing that can’t be taken for granted but should be grabbed firmly. But I well remember huffs and puffs before when I wanted time off for things like attending the fertility clinic as part of our IVF treatment.
On one of those IVF visits at the end of the preparation I had to go and give my “contribution” to the treatment and I remember it being a very disappointing event. Because we were being treated by a private clinic, I was hoping to have some “help” along with way with a specially-built “gentlemen’s area”, with a library to suit every taste, a profusion of porn, a cornucopia of moral corruption and degradation. Good grief, no. A cold room with a plastic chair, a sink and some tatty copies of Maxim was all that awaited me and the glare I got from the nurse as she left the room seemed to indicate that if I required them my soul would be damned to eternal Hellfire and the angels would weep for me. But despite all the odds, I delivered my end of the bargain and we have Will to show for it, so not entirely wasted. But, the time I had off work for this unpleasantness was only sulkily given by my employers of the time.
I’m also a conscientious blood donor, so as I Work From Home I can timetable a donation time when the clinic is quiet. All these things come because of being able to perform Internet Business doing Online Jobs which means that I will be there for the vital events without it having a detrimental result my work.
Having spent several years working away from home, both around United Kingdom and abroad, I can also say with some experience that being permitted to Work From Home is the equivalent of several thousand per annum just for the opportunity, both figuratively and in reality. Since I don’t travel to work any longer, apart from attending the odd meeting now and again, I have no travel costs and no requirement to do battle with rush hour delays. I remember the cumulative minimum of five hours a week sat in the fast lane of the M25 with a shudder.
Now the only thing I require is a well stocked tea caddy, milk in the fridge a trustworthy kettle and a slanket in winter to be able to earn a living. I also occasionally have to have a Twitter feed on the iPhone or computer to stay abreast of current doings and to provide some sort of brainwave if the flow seizes.
So would I change Online Jobs to Work From Home and return to an office? By choice, definitely not, but if life does teach anything it is that one should live for the moment when doing something you really like, since the position can spin round in an instant. Or as the proverb goes: “set your goals in concrete but your plans in sand.”
