With about a 50% split between short term stay and long term stay residents at our serviced apartments which group do you suppose gets the most benefit from booking serviced apartments compared to the main alternatives: letting from a private landlord or staying in a hotel?
Short-stay: serviced accommodation vs. hotels
When you book in to a hotel, everything is simple and provided for you: bath linen, beds turned down, breakfast waiting for you in the morning. They are ideally suited to one or two night stays. If you remain for longer, however, you will feel glad of a bit more living space. You might prefer to cook for yourself on a couple of occasions, or munch your morning toast in peace and quiet instead of the rich food that the hotel restaurant decides you like. You can also extend yourself out a bit more:
- put a couple of bottles of wine (your own choice) in the fridge
- take advantage of the wireless internet
- make the most of TV
The comparison grows even more attractive when you note that serviced accommodation is usually less expensive than four star hotels, even taking into account the extra space and complementary services on offer.
Long term stay: serviced apartments vs. renting an apartment or hotels
If staying anywhere more than seven nights, it’s not just living space that turns out to be important: the best accommodation will deliver good storage space, something that a hotel generally cannot do. Living in own apartment throughout your stay permits you to feel less cooped up. Your lifestyle is just as it would be at home. You are free to do as you please, enabling you to feel relaxed.
Compared to renting, serviced apartments uk allow you to bask in luxury while also permitting you to feel more ‘at home’ than a hotel as the days go by. For example, as well as cooking for yourself you might also be perfectly content to do your own laundry in the washing and drying machines provided in each kitchen.
The difficulties with renting apartment space are that you generally have to take a property for at least 6 months, and you are left to supply your own services (internet provision and sorting out when your utilities start and stop for example). It is not surprising that for stays of between one week and six months, serviced accommodation has become the most popular choice for leisure and business visitors to towns and cities throughout the UK and Europe.
